Admission

The postgraduate degrees (doctor and licentiate) are granted by the Faculty of Technology and several issues are regulated by the Department of Electrical and Information Engineering. Thus, their general postgraduate study regulations and guidelines apply also directly to the telecommunications programme.

If you are interested in joining our postgraduate programme, you have two options:

  1. You can apply for a doctoral student position to be employed by CWC.
  2. You can apply just to the doctoral programme, and perform your studies wherever you may be employed.

In case 1. you must submit a job application

In case 2. you first need to find a degree supervisor who can be one of Telecommunication Laboratory professors or docents. You can freely contact any of them and request one for your supervisor. If you need guidance in the supervisor selection, please contact the postgraduate study coordinator, Prof. Markku Juntti ( markku.juntti (at) ee.oulu.fi ).

If you are accepted to the International Doctoral Study Programme you will then start working for CWC and as soon as possible apply for the postgraduate study right from the university and from the department/faculty.
